Dear Lillian,

Your letter came this morning. Glad to know you got back all safe. The rest of the folks are ao busy they said I had to write a line. Don’t know much to write. Helen goes to Kalamazoo in the morning. Doris came back again. George is in Lansing to day. Ann and her mother were over here last evening.

I went to the city caucus Monday nite and was secretary and they nominated me for Justice of the Peace. There seems to be a pretty good chance to elect mayor as there is quite a lot of opposition to the present mayor who is running for his third term.

Darby’s little boy nearly broke his arm yesterday. One of his roller skates came off and he fell.

Serol Powers was over and said Mrs. Andrews had been very sick but is some better now. Mamma wrote to her yesterday. The roads are getting pretty bad especially the side roads. We cannot heat that tank of water with gas as yet anyhow. It must be like something like an electric heater so we can put it in the water. The ones they have are so small we are going to see if a larger one can be made.

Hope you are all well down there and enjoying yourselves.

Lovingly

Dad
