Lillian Dear:
I greatly fear, Your invitation we must decline. As Saturday, I’m on my way, to see the folks of mine. Awfully sweet of you to ask us, but I have to go home Saturday and won’t be back until Sunday (night. You see, Helen and I take turns going home.
How are all of your folks, and what is your sister Helen doing?
How when & what are you (teaching? Do you like it?
I thought you’d forget all about your old friends in the little old town when you got to the big metropolis.
Miss Mulvandy spent last week end at Barr Van D’s home.
Helen and I are making great progress along the lines of domestic science. Our [illegible] spent is almost wore out, we are thinking seriously of purchasing another one, pay day.
The teaching we have this year we like real well. Especially Mr. Kelly the 7th & 8th grade teacher)
Two of them called on me last night. The music teacher for me, we had a regular old time concert. She plays the piano beautifully.
Please excuse the stationary, but it is raining cats & dogs I couldn’t get home to get any stationary. Shows how much I love you you, I will have to swim to the post office to mail this.
It is nearly train time so will love to continue this in the next.
When are you coming to Doney?
Lovingly Hildine
P.S. Helen is just as bad as ever, the other nite she called Mrs. Cooper and asked her if she would do our washing, she said “we havn’t had any washing done this year.” Worse than last.
