Dear Lillian:--
It does not seem like twenty-five days has passed since I received your letter. does it seem that long to you or does it? Lillian, does my girl friend like being a school ma’am very much? I image I would like to teach with the exception of test papers and home work.
Lillian, twenty miles is not so far if one has a nice boy friend to call on them every once in a while to spend 3 or 4 hours to help pass away a pleasant evening. Lillian, now as you are an English teacher please try not to laugh very much at the mistakes in my letters. Lillian, Cordelia is here and wants to write you a few lines.
[Handwriting in letter changes.]
Hello Lilian! Have been wanting to write you for a coons’ age but, you know the same “ole” excuse, “have been busy”
So glad to hear that you are teaching school. It is “second best” gob you can get the first is: being married and keeping house for a good man and one whom you love. I hope you can get that position some of these sweet days.
There are going to be several Halloween parties this week and Lillian and I are going to take in every one of them.
How is the family? We never hear any more from Helen. How is she? Lillian said to tell her to write some time I always love to get your letters. Regards to the family. love
Cordelia & Lillian
