Dear Lillian,

Please don’t put me on your record as an absolute heathen—though I’ll admit it’s pretty heathenish not to answer your letter sooner. But it’s like this: when you wrote me that letter I was already planning that you should come over with other kids the morning after the Alumni Banquet at home. I guess Dad’s going to let me have the car to drive back early Sat. morn (the 13th) for the annual girl’s Track Tournament. I thought that would be more interesting than coming over last Thurs—which was nothing special but hot.

Maybe Margarita Young will come—and Gertrude and Mable Meade I guess. We’ll drive back to Nashville Sat. night, because I have to stay here Sat afternoon for some cussed tea—but I’ll give you the car to play around in till I get out.

I’m on the freshman Basketball team and am in some track events so I’ll “perform” for you all and probably make an ass of myself.

Friday night 55 Phys. Ed. Co-eds started up the river on the annual Canoe trip we went about 15 miles. Wading and dragging our canoes about ¼ of that distance because the rivers so shallow—at the present reading there is much sunburn and lameness of the limbs in evidence about the campus.

I’m supposed to be writing my term topic for English—hence the abstract cards. I simply must return to it for it crieth loudly.

Let me know how the plans suit you—and see me Friday night at said banquet.

Lots of Love

Pauline
